Binding classes

 

We devote time to teach the beautiful craft of bookbinding in my bindery.

We offer binding classes in weekly and monthly courses and workshops during one or more days.

Since September 2011, I organise master classes for which we invite reputable, international well known bookbinders and paper artists as guest teachers.

These guest teachers are specialists in bindingstructures they developped and they like to teach their knowledge to interessed binders of all levels.

Of course you always need basic knowledge of bookbinding for most lessons.

If needed the level you need to have is wrote down in the information about the master class.

The master classes are in our bindery in Blokker.

For every course, workshop or master class we have waitinglists when classes are full.
In case someone has to cancel you might be lucky if you are on this waitinglist

We had guest teachers from France, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switserland, United States, Germany and Spain.

Participants in these master classes come from all over the world: The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Brasil, China and Italy.

A few days working in a nice and international atmosphere in which a lot of things are exchanged and people become friends across the borders.

How to get there

Our bindery is easily to reach.

• Amsterdam Central Station – Hoorn Kersenboogerd station, direct connection by Intercity train, 39 minutes.
• Schiphol – Hoorn Kersenboogerd station, direct connection by Sprinter train, 45 minutes.
• Alkmaar station- Hoorn Kersenboogerd station with a change in Hoorn, 31 minutes.
• Hoorn Kersenboogerd – Bindery Wilgenkamp, about 12 minutes walk.
• Coming by car: Parking on our driveway or in the street is no problem.

Trivia: Blokker is the only village in the Netherlands where the Beatles had a concert on the 6th of June in 1964. We even have a Beatles monument!
