Since 1997, Bindery Wilgenkamp is established in Blokker, community of Hoorn, the Netherlands, 45 kilometer above Amsterdam.

My speciality is to bind one of a kind books and boxes or small editions for special occasions, tailor made to your taste.

For anyone who wants to learn this challenging and fascinating craft we teach bookbinding in my bindery.

Bindings

Bookbinding is a modern craft that is still developping with a lot of opportunities to bind your book.

The design, the binding together with the colour and choice of materials are determinative for the appearance and use of your book.

I am happy to advise you to make a choice in the materials. I only use materials of good quality.

I also produce tailor made boxes, slipcases or other forms of (flexible) book or document protection.

Bookproduction

If you are planning to print your own book, please contact the bookbinder first!

I don’t mind to advice you for free before you go to the printer.

After printing I love to bind your book.

Master classes, workshops, courses

I offer lessons in different levels in my bindery in groups of max. six participants.
I don’t offer the bindings of Benjamin Elbel anymore because that feels double. His excellent tutorials are workshops on its own. Affordable for everyone and to use your whole bookbindinglife.

I only offer workshops with bindings of others when I have permission of the maker. That’s fair play!
All other workshops I offer are bindings of unknow makers or bindings I made myself or revisited myself.

Since September 2011 master classes are part of my programm. We invite international well known and respected bookbinders and boxmakers with their own speciality.
